Am I a quitter?

“You simply want escaping” was my father’s response when I expressed my desire to be an artist.

Wolf’s Week between 3/31/2025 - 4/6/2025

Planted seeds with Newsletters

Crafting a newsletter takes so much time!! Despite such effort, I’m so glad to have started it. Last week, I shared my first comprehensive newsletter featuring Internet Funeral—an event I hosted with friends—and a number of you expressed your appreciation after finishing the entire newsletter. (I’m so in love with you). I believe that by revealing my honest mistakes as an artist, you'll feel reassured when you stumble while trying new things.

Wrote Fun Documentation

Believing in finishing strong, I dedicated significant time last week documenting every detail of my recent game Pick Me Up. I intended to discuss the 'boring' process in a more conversational style so that readers would enjoy the process of making as much as I did. (Sounding like a robot can only take you so far.)

The 1st and Last Band Album

Once upon a time (back in college), I started a band with 8 other friends called 我操!乐队(WatchOUT! Band). We played together for nearly 3 years, recording 9 songs before dispersing into the wild adult life last May. It's been almost a year since graduation and we are in the final stage of mixing our 1st and last album. I'd love to share one of my favorite pieces from this album before its official release (you are in for a treat):

Sit Club — F*ck running, it’s sitting time

Organized by Danielle, Mackenzie, and Connie, Sit Club is tired of the widespread lie of running and had its one and only sitting activity in Golden Gate Park. Club creed such as “Admit it, nobody likes to run”, “Stand up by sitting down“ deeply resonated with fellow sitters, attracting 200+ people to arrive with their own chair and participate in a 90-minute long sitting experience. It felt awesome to be recognized and accepted as a lazy ass rebellious sitter.

They certainly won the best chair contest

A Bouquet Birthday — Sharing love is cool

Organized by Nicole, the bouquet birthday encouraged friends to bring flowers to the event. After mixing and matching, members were asked to send each flower to strangers in the nearby Dolores Park. I gifted my flowers to a student working on his books, a food vendor, a Hula Hoop coach, a couple dancing to silent disco, an old lady, a fellow flower messenger (failed), the statue of a Mexican hero, and a group of people who accepted me into their volleyball game.

Look at the smiles! Introverts were so excited about their mission.

My week was lovely thanks to these beautiful souls:

Gleb Ossipov, Chris Lee, Ray Xia, Connie, Lucas, Nicole, Sahil, Steven, Borui, Neal, Abi, the people who let me play volleyball, Suki, Tina, Jess, Jared, Tammie, Dora, Vivian Li, Mom and dad, Allan Wang, Tong Wu, Julieann, Allon, Danielle, Emmanuel, Josh, Evan, Katherine Ho, Andrew, people who sit next to me in Sit Club, Alex, Liam, and everyone who I missed to place down, you know who you are.

If you are interested in gender nonconformity and what it means to “quit being a man“, then this video I came across last week would align with your interest. - The Incel to Trans Pipeline and Inside Mari
